New vest to list on etsy almost done! Just need to stitch the buttons on it.

This one is made of brocade, taffeta, and satin and I’ve polished the antiquing off the buttons so they’re gold rather than antiqued gold.

For Akon in Dallas this year my friend thesassypizzaqueen is going to be cosplaying human!Impala to go with my Dean cosplay. This is a design I came up with for her to use as a reference for her cosplay. I actually spent a lot of time going through scenes and screen-capping part where the trunk of the Impala was visible to get a better idea of accessories like the rosary or the possibility of having the dreamcatcher hanging off her belt. I also tied to keep the design recognizable and modern while still having references back to 1967 fashion and trends.

There are quite a few things I’d like to change about my Asami cosplay, especially since I made this back after episode 4 of book 1 aired and her colors on the show have changed since then making my cosplay a little inaccurate. Another thing I really need to work on is gloves, these are the first pair I’ve ever made and they turned out fairly poorly.

I’m really happy with how this cosplay turned out! And it fit perfect from the first time she put it on and it held up and looked wonderful all day. I’m really proud of how nice this turned out.

I even made ‘fire’ and ‘water’ props although we didn’t get any photos with the water one as it was left in the hotel room during the shoot.

Breaking from writing a term paper to post a few favorites from the DaveJade shoot during Friday of Megacon! The photographer is the lovely fairypsychic who also took our Korra photos (those will be posted when I get them).

I painted the logo on Jade’s shirt, made the Jade ears, made both flower crowns, and altered 2 shirts together to make my Dave shirt and ironed on the logo.

Trying to keep projects at a minimum until I recover from Mega and catch up on school work so I’m just wrapping up some projects I had started.
Re-dying the bottom of my Jean wig to darken it up and putting more layers on my gluesword for Mirai.
After I get caught up with school work I’ll be making some more costume/clothes to sell on etsy and back to working on cosplays for Akon and Metrocon

Wowwie Megacon!

So the day before the con part of the frame for my giant articulated wings snapped so thankfully I had my fluffy black feather wings to use so I fixed those up last minute for Dark on Friday (which I ended up changing out of into regular Dave Strider for reasons involving needing to wear shoes without heels) but a lot of people recognized the DNAngel cosplays which was surprising but wonderful and they got photos but until I find them have this selfie of me and aegyozillasmash as Daisuke and godtierboots (please be Skye’s URL) as Masquerade Toothianna.

During late afternoon/night on Friday I was regular Dave Strider with aegyozillasmash as Jade and we had flower crowns I made and a photoshoot with fairypsychic which was fun.

Saturday I was Asami Sato for the first half of the day with aegyozillasmash as Korra and I don’t have any photos of that yet but some will come since we had a nice photoshoot with my friend fairypsychic again. After we changed into Vriska and Terezi and mostly hung out with my friend baseball-boyfriends who was Male!Kanaya.

A lot of people really like my roboarm which was great because I spent a lot of time working on it and I was proud of how it turned out (aside from the velcro starting to peel off the forearm piece as soon as I put it on but that’s a easy fix before I pull out Vriska again.

Sunday we were lazy and went back to being Dave and Jade rather than Korra and Asami because Dave and Jade are pretty much normal clothes.

We found a TARDIS and it was great because I started making a lot of Space and Time puns.

If anyone got photos of us in the hallways please send them my way I’d love to see them!

My Official Lineup for Megacon 2014! If you see me feel free to come and say hello!

Slight change! Friday is the same but Saturday is being split between Asami and Vriska and Sunday will be Asami again! Saturday I will probably be changing between the two around 2 in order to make it to the homestuck meet up but that depends on what time my friend can get photos of our Korra cosplays on Saturday.

I’m  sorry for not posting regular update photos of my wings as I intended to! The mechanics of them ended up being more complicated trial-and-error than I anticipated.

I have finished the backmount and the new bone structure and will probably finish the harness tomorrow so I’ll be able to take a new video showing off their range of motion and such before I paint the famework.

I also have the feathers patterned out so I can start cutting them out and assembling them whenever I get a free day.

aegyozillasmash replied to your post: Was at Michael’s getting last minute s…

Oh my freaking god I love this!!

Ahhh thanks! I have extra pins and pyramid studs so I’m considering going out and getting more chain and some different pendents and making a few to list on etsy.

Was at Michael’s getting last minute supplies for my Equalist Glove  for megacon when I saw this pendant on sale and just had to get it for my Cecil cosplay. I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted to do with it but I’ve seen accessories styled like this that pin to the shirt collar before and settled on doing one with the evil eye pendant to go over my tie (since I plan on having a plain one). I’m probably going to shorten the chains before I debut Cecil at A-Kon.

I recently made a double-breasted vest in a red and gold color scheme that is now available for sale on etsy!

Main fabric is a red polyester taffeta with a velvety floral design, the back panel is a red semi-sheer polyester to match the front, and it is lined with a gold polyester silk fabric that matches the 8 gold buttons and gold buckle in the back. Only one row of buttons in functional, the slide vest buckle in the back is functional, and there are faux pockets in the front.

I have another vest similar to this style in the works but it will be green and brown with gold accents.

I’ve made more earrings that are now available for purchase in my etsy shop!

The past 2 days have been spent mostly working on revamping my wings for Megacon. The corrugated plastic I used for the bones ended up not being able to support it’s own weight so I switched to bones made from plywood that I cut out with the jigsaw and sanded down. The pvc frame seems to be working out not that I have it in the general shape I need and after yet another run to home depot hopefully I’ll be able to finish the frame work and move onto the feathers I have patterned out.

When I finish the frame work I’m going to post a video to show off the range of motion these have to them.
